The Distinctive Truths We Embrace at Woodlands Presbyterian Church

WE Believe... that in response to the grace of God, we enjoy holy relationships in knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior and in making Him known through Worship, Bible Study, Fellowship and Mission Outreach. This enables us to welcome all persons who confess Jesus as Lord and Savior into membership in Woodlands Presbyterian Church.

WE Believe... that the Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God as originally written, the complete revelation of His will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.

WE Believe... in one God, Creator of all good things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and, that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.

WE Believe... in the deity of Jesus Christ: His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal, imminent return; and that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation.

WE Believe... in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who dwells in all believers and thus, enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer and Jesus' church.

We Believe... that people were created by and for God; that by disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God and physical death as a consequence; and, that all people are sinners by nature and practice.

WE Believe... that the Lord Jesus died for our sins; that all who trust in Him are declared righteous because of His sacrificial death; and, that we are therefore in a new and right relationship with God, ourselves and others.

WE Believe... in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman or chastity in singleness; and, that persons refusing to repent from any sin shall not be ordained as deacons, elders or ministers.

We Believe... in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, the everlasting blessedness of those in the right relationship with God and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God as Savior and Lord.
